About Us
The Downtown Paw was started with our owner's dog in mind. Kate wanted to create a daycare for her dog Fields, an English Setter, that would allow her to use her natural abilities as a sporting dog. After having worked at different daycares while she was in college, she decided to create one of her own.
Unlike most dog daycares where your dog is in free play from the moment they get there until the moment they get picked up, we can structure your dog's day to make sure they get a chance to workout both their mental and physical health. Dogs need more than just a good run to be at their best, and that's what we strive for with our daycare programs. We use puzzle mats, training tricks, agility components, along with play with other dogs to keep their day busy, and never the same as the day before. By having a structured daycare day, instead of a day full of only free play, the dogs are able to learn new behaviors, curb bad habits, exercise their natural abilities, and be their best selves.
Just like you, we want to be able to check in on our dogs when we're not with them to make sure their getting the love and attention we know they deserve. We're always happy to communicate through text, calls, or emails if you want to check in on them, or you just want a picture of your furry best friend.

Dog Daycare
Our daycare has no breed restrictions and is open:
Monday - Friday 7am to 6pm
2nd & 4th Saturdays 10am to 4pm
Grooming
Our grooming salon is the ultimate stress-free environment for your dog, cat or small animal. A 1-on-1 experience where your pet gets pampered, play time, and lots of personal attention.
Training - Currently on hold
Available for Puppy Obedience, Level 1 Obedience, and Level 2 Obedience. Private Session are available.
Boarding - Dogs & Cats
Catios for our feline friends and separate play areas for your dog, our boarders are able to play and nap all day! You can travel with ease knowing your fur babies are safe and with our team 24/7.
What we offer
Free Play
During the day, your dog will get the chance to have free play with the other daycare dogs. Our facility allows us to separate the dogs into groups where we match personalities, energy levels, and play styles. This helps us keep the dogs active, and safe.
1 on 1 Play Time
One of our many available add-ons for your dog can be a personal play session with one of our staff members. This 20 minute 1 on 1 allows them to take a break from the daycare playrooms and get the much needed personal attention that we know all dogs crave. This includes personal play, snuggles, and lots of love!
Puzzle Mats
Puzzle mats are a great way to burn off some extra energy and get some healthy stimulation for our dogs who are not super active players. We have different mats for different levels of skills to help build their confidence and keep things new. Did you know that roughly 15 minutes of scent work is more effective at tiring out your dog than a 30 minute walk?
Mid-Day Snacks
Want to add a special treat for you pup during the day? We have different snack options that can be given during the day. Some of the snacks include doggie ice cream, peanut butter surprise, fun filled chews, and more!
Daily Walks
We are proud to be able to offer a walking service as part of our daycare. Pet Parents can add a walk to their dog's day for either 15- or 30-minute intervals (10% off regular walking prices). Walks are done in small groups to maximize safety. Weather conditions are taken into consideration and walks may be postponed if there are unfavorable conditions outside.
Run Fur Fun
Our dog powered treadmill is the perfect solution for those days where your dog has an abundance of spunk! Running is one of the best forms of exercise for your dog, and our treadmill lets them run at their own speed and their own style.
Puppy Play
Puppies are always welcome in daycare, and it can be a great way to socialize your new dog. That's why at The Downtown Paw, puppies have a different schedule then the rest of the pack. They are given playtime in intervals so they can still get their much-needed puppy naps, since they still need between 18 and 20 hours of sleep a day to help them grow and develop. Without those nap breaks, a puppy in an open daycare setting without adequate rest can be overwhelmed and it can lead to behavioral & anxiety problems.

Mini Training Sessions
Every pet owner knows how crucial training is when you have a dog, regardless of the breed. It can help with a multitude of problems, and be a great way to bond with your pet. These personal training sessions can be tailored to each dogs needs, and help to reinforce commands such as sit, stay, down, and shake.
